E.g. there was about month ago question about adjusting EVF brightness: selecting this menu option made LCD black and EVF switched on so you can see adjustment effect immediately. But if you did not notice that EVF switches on then this creates impression that for some reason menu was cancelled. Better would be to show message on LCD : "use EVF to make adjustments".
What again is stupidity as one wants to make adjustment for EVF, but when going for the setting, doesn't even look at the EVF but expects to do the adjustment with different display.
Meaning, other tries to make adjustment without seeing the effect and thinks it is broken and so on difficult.
While other realize that to make the adjustment, one needs to look the EVF being adjusted to know how to do it, so it is logical.
Another example: I set front button by lens for focus limiting and defined 3 ranges. But when I tried set focus limiter while shooting it didn't work. I tried several times and pressed button so hard that my fingers hurt (it was early spring and my hands were freezing so this made things even worse). Only later I realized that I had focus limiter on my lens set and this disabled camera focus limiter. Some message in EVF in such case would have helped, with current solution I already though that camera button is not working.
That would be small good improvement that if lens focus limiter is set and it overrides the in-body limiter then pressing Fn button would not give a text on screen, but inform that lens limiter is On.
The rule of thumb is that don't inform something is Off, but inform when something is On.
The Olympus menu ain't perfect, but it is one of the best out there.
What metric measures "goodness"? So it is the best for you and by far the worst ever for me.
There are small things to improve like your above lens focus limiter, and same could go for why some settings are grayed out in camera because some other setting. Like example why the "Short" shutter release delay is disable when a focus peaking was even binded in any MySets!
And I could add a ton of other things I would deem better, but it is personal so no use to spend my time doing this.
