Re: X-T100 versus XT20

I'd have to disagree with all those who feel these two cameras are likely to cut into each other's sales. The cameras seem aimed at entirely different audiences.

Those who want total ease of use, want to take selfies, need the quick turnaround of  a bluetooth connection, have no need for two wheels, and aren't overly concerned with AF responsiveness are going to embrace the X-T100. Great for more casual shooters who want a quality upgrade from their smartphones.

I'm among the many semi-professionals who have decided to try out serious mirrorless shooting for the first time, opting for the X-T10/X-T20 line. For most tasks, the AF and overall performance are very good. Most of us will end up investing quite a bit in the Fuji line of lenses. We need the higher performance, additional controls, and - especially in my case - the use of back button focus.

I do wish the X-T20 buttons were slightly raised and a little more responsive so you have confirmation of activation. Placement of controls isn't perfect, but the overall flexibility of control setting helps. You won't get everything perfect at this price point. The overall similarity to flagship performance for stills shooting makes it a great choice for serious shooters trying out the system, or as a second body.

The X-T100 is a fine addition, but clearly is aimed at a different slice of the market.
