My first digital camera was a Olympus and my first dslr was Olympus's E-510. I've used other brand's systems a few times through the years but I've always had a Olympus alongside them and always used Olympus primarily during all paid work for the simple reason that I knew it and when working a event like a wedding you need to be ready for the shot in a instant, if your thinking about how to set up your camera for the shot you usually will miss the shot.

You should use the gear that best helps you get what you want out of your photography. Be it Olympus, Panasonic or even something outside of M4/3.

The Olympus menus on the E-510 or even the E-P2 ( my first M4/3 camera.) are quite a bit smaller than my E-M5 II but they are structured the same. As the the camera models advanced the menus were just added onto so it was pretty easy for me to just pick up the OM-Ds and do what I wanted with them. The current Olympus cameras have such a high degree customizability and there menus reflect that. I'm not sure how well the menu system can be refined and still maintain the cameras customizability but its obviously something that would be desirable for consumers just starting out with Olympus.

I use both Olympus and Panasonic but lean heavier towards Olympus. If I had to start doing weddings again with Panasonic I'm confident I could get the job done but not at the same level as I could with Olympus which wouldn't be fair to the client and there's other M4/3 users who are the reverse.

I think that's a strength with the M4/3 system. Both Olympus and Panasonic make awesome cameras, equally capable but different enough that most people will find one better suited to their needs and more satisfying to use.
