Yeah I did that. But was unsure since the cam seemed to be out of sync and missed a lot of lightning strikes as is proven by countless pics via the trigger that were black....So I wanted to look for a setting somewhere, just to check....and could not find it.

I am also irritated very much by the descriptions on screen with every item you click on...How do I get rid of that...etcetcetc.....

Press 'info' button while the menu is open. I don't think it could be easier nor more intuitive.

How about "do not display information"....Now it says (X) Info....Indicating that I need to click an X to get rid of the info. It is not so clear. It is also not so very handy when you have a touchscreen but cannot use it...That is new to me.

Again: I am not saying the cam is bad. It is not for me.
