With respect to the subject under discussion, which is perspective, yes, absolutely. With respect to framing, no. that is the point of this discussion, and the reason you need to understand cause and effect. Your choices about how to frame you subject are independent of any choice you made about what perceptive to portray. The cause of perspective (of which compression is one manifestation) is shooting position, only. The framing you choose to use from that perspective is a different choice. It can either be relatively wide (as in 100 mm) or it can be relatively tight (as in 400 mm). Perspective is the same, framing is different. That simple.
