Bizarre problem

Having changed from Canon to Nikon, no focus issues ever with Canon, to massive problems with Nikon, changing back isn't feasible anymore so I must go on. An issue that Ive noticed is, a lens I have, I noticed it slightly smeared on one side of the image, it look liked it is decentered, after removing the lens and refitting it, the effect seems to have lessened to a point its hardly noticeable. It seems the amount of pushing force I apply to the lens against the camera body, before turning it, will effect the sharpness on the right hand side of the frame. The lens feels tight on the body, theres no movement, could the weathersealing be creating a slight lens/sensor misalignment due to the way the lens is being fitted? Or could be something else? thanks a lot
