I have the 16-35 Canon and have shot and played with the Sigma 14 -24 ART.

BOTH are great in their own way. IS is lovely to have , but remember it will only aid you in being still , NOT you scene or people

I don't want to beat up on you, but I think it's funny when people trot out this standard line for wideangles.

Who is using a 14-24 on people or action? If you were shooting me with a 24mm I would tell you where to get off.

Well I am using !!! And every event photographer is using that wide angle in a tight room at 2.8 where the light conditions are bad. I have this lens and I am impressed how good this lens is at 14mm and how sharp at 2.8 If you have to capture a group of people in a small room this lens is way to go if you shoot landscapes then Canon 16-35 F4 IS is the way to go. I have got 16-35 2.8 lll but returned because it deliver huge vignette. I have got sigma 14-24 2.8 ART and dont care about extra 35mm from Canon version I already have 24-70 ll
