Fishing for A7III subjects along the New Bedford docks
7

Each time I’m nearby, I drive through the New Bedford docks, a subject I have mined for years. Many boats there are rusting there, because their frustrated owners have sold their catch permits to corporate boats because the individual vessel allotment is too small to make it profitable to use them.

In recent years, lobster traps have begun to be all-yellow. This boat carried a LOT of them.

Accentuating the “working class” of these boats, a glance at the wet locker outside the bridge of this fishing boat is a riot of different colors:

The detail on these boats offers lots of interesting - rusting - subjects:

I wasn’t the only one trying to capture the color on the docks - this woman was working with watercolors.

All photos shot with my new A7III and a Leica 35mm f1.4 Summilux-M focused on a TechArt Pro M to E adapter.
