Panasonic G9 AFC Performance

Just got the G9 and 100-400 and although I am new to the camera I would say I am reasonably good at BIF. However my keeper rate is very low.

I noticed that both birds with a white cloudy sky or blue background seem to have a problem aquiering focus, even worse when a bird flies in front of trees etc.

Has anyone had any success with custom settings

Set 1: The default setting and a versatile option
Set 2: For subjects moving in one direction at constant speed
Set 3: For tracking subjects, ignoring obstacles
Set 4: For subjects that change speed and move unpredictably.

I tried various AF modes but none really locked on and stayed on. With slow moving birds like a Heron it was ok but more unpredictable birds it really struggles.

Any tips of settings etc much appreciated
