Retouch doughnut bokeh from mirror tele lenses?

Hi,

I've read a few times that it's possible to retouch (= eliminate in PP) the 'doughnut' bokeh  caused by reflex telephoto lenses.  I've never seen it done, and each time I've tried a reflex lens have decided not to continue to use them for the very reason of the distracting bokeh.  Does anyone know how this might be done n PP?  And actually tried it?  How successfully?

Thanks in advance.

Regards, Rod
