Sigma 18-35 f1.8 Art or something else?
2

Howdy all, just recently got into photography and while I've read and learned quite a bit in the past months I've found myself in a bit pickle. I'm ready to upgrade a bit from my kit lens and I'm not quite sure exactly where to go. I've been eyeing the Sigma 18-35 1.8 for a bit, I've read it is sharp, obviously fast, and a great low light lens. I'm just not sure how it will perform with the type of shots that I enjoy the most. I shoot a lot of sunset/rises/night/landscape type stuff. Most of the time between f8-11 to get as much of the frame in focus as I can. The Sigma's sweet spot for sharpness seems to be around f2-2.8 so my concern is that is at the smaller f stops the performance of the lens will drop of dramatically.  Would it be smarter to go with something with a larger focal range that performs well at smaller f stops? Or will focusing to infinity at f2.8 render a fully sharp frame? I've included some of my shots so y'all can get a idea of the type of shoots I like. Any advice is greatly welcomed.
