Hogan on the death of M43
10

Just read this post which left me a bit perplexed to say the least.

The post basically asks whether ever more powerful cell phones and cheaper FF cameras will lead to the death of M43.

Regarding my iPhone; well it has taken over most record shots duties for my work, where I just want a reminder of what I have seen. But it has just a fixed focal length lens which is a bit limiting. This is often forgotten by the "camera is dead" crew.

As for FF/M43, well we been there far too many times.

For me this article strangely misses the point that with M43, one can carry a huge arsenal of focal lengths in a small light camera bag.

I fit four zooms ranging from 7mm to 300mm in a small Billingham bag or when hiking in a small corner of my rucksack. How does a FF kit of 14 to 600mm work out in bulk and weight? can my camera phone cover this range?

I cannot quite make out this strange article and the comparisons he made and the conclusions arrived at.

What do you think?
