Regretting not giving into GAS. Help!

So, as a typical DPR forum gearhead, I suffer from occasional GAS. I'm usually happy to have enough self restraint to not give in.

But now I'm actually regretting not giving in and not buying. Both lenses in question now apparently disappeared from retail and it's unlikely I will be able to buy them apart from second hand or paying a big premium (which I will not do).

In both cases, the lenses were probably not something I would use a lot (but then again, the gearhead in me shouts "I would use them all the time", like it does every single time ). So the rationale for not buying them is still quite strong. Yet, I have this nagging regret in the back of my head, telling me that I missed the best deal of my life. I know perfectly well that this is not the case. I have more lenses than time to use them, so one or two more would not change much of anything. What's more, I have already commited to buying one more quite expensive lens for my upcoming aurora hunting trip later this year. So I don't really need to spend money on random lenses in the meantime.

So why do I get this "non-buyer's remorse"? It's super annoying and does not make any sense. My rationalization is bullet-proof, I would think, so what gives? Did my mind pull some sort of used car salesman trick on me?

Have anyone experienced something like that?
