Noisy Focus Peaking

I have an A7III.

I am not sure if I have a problem with my Focus Peaking (FP) function used for manual focus or if Sony’s FP is poorly implemented.

SETTING:

- Peaking Color: set to yellow, but happens in all colors

- Peaking Level: worse in LOW, but occurs in medium/high

PROBLEM: I notice yellow “noise” distributed all over the scene, even in areas outside the focal plane that is at least 2’ behind when using FP.

It occurs when image is zoomed in. Doesn’t occur (mostly gone) when zoomed 1:1. It’s more noticeable in dim light.

In comparison, I have Canon M3 mirrorless, and the FP is very clean with similar setting and conditions..

Do you notice the same the Focus Peaking “noise” on the A7III or other Sony mirrorless?
