Low Key Portraits with the Kit Lens (SELP1650)

I've always wondered what would be like to shoot studio style portraits with the not-so-popular kit kens, E PZ 16–50 mm F3.5–5.6 OSS. This type of portraits require to close down the aperture so you can use its sweet spot, and the edges/corners don't matter, so I thought the kit lens might do fine. Finally my son gave me a chance to do this experiment, but please excuse his faded PJ and his unhappy face (but unhappy face could totally work in low-key portraits! LOL).
