Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD over exposure

Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD is a great lens for my Nikon however a problem is that any f stop above f9 and the lens gives an over exposure!

OTher lenses don't exhibit this problem so I'm confident it is not the camera.

I can work around the problem by adjusting exposure levels in the camera and RAW edit but would like the issue to go away.

f stops below 9 are perfect sharp images

Any advice?
