I will pick up my machine tomorrow and will let you know what I think. You can be sure I will need lots of help going from Window based machines to the MBP.

You may be interested in one of the following reference books:

  • macOS _____ : The Missing Manual, by David Pogue
  • Switching to the Mac ( _____ Edition ) : The Missing Manual, by David Pogue

These have versions for major versions of Mac OS X: El Capitan, Sierra, High Sierra.

I'm not sure if there are "Switching" books for anything later than El Capitan, so that may be a deciding point in favor of the main "Missing Manual".

You can get these books in e-book form (Kindle form, possibly also Apple e-book form) – which makes it easy to have them with you any place that you take your notebook.

I switched from Windows to Mac ten years ago this month. It was easier than I'd expected. These days I use Macs at home and Windows at work. The worst thing that happens in switching between them now, is that I head to the wrong upper corner of a window to close it, or hit "command" instead of "control" or vice versa, and I don't do that more than once per session.

There are helpful forums at macrumors.com. I joined ten years ago and visit when I have a question or am contemplating getting a new computer.

Thank you, I will check macrumors out. I appreciate all of your help!
