Maybe I am late to the game maybe not, but grabbed this screen shot from a trailer for Den of thieves, a XT-2. He could have done surveillance one handed with the XH-1, lol...

Cool. Good eyes...

Fuji X-E3, 18-55mm
Nikon V1, 32mm, 18.5mm, 10-100 PD, 10-30mm, SB-N5, J4

Well spotted!

I'm surprised he's not using the 100-400 for more reach. I suppose it might be too expensive for a surveillance job like that, or perhaps he needs something lets in a bit more light.

Yes, he obviously went with Fuji because the next best thing would give away his position with a big silly white lens. ;-)

IT'S A MOVIE.

He isn't taking pictures of anything so why would he need a bigger lens.

And the point of your reply? Kind of the same thing. Make sure you get that life you are looking for.

He should have chosen the Sony A7Riii for its better low light capabilities. We should start a thread asking certain people which camera is better to pretend to use. The Fuji XH1 for IBIS or Sony A7III for its IBIS and better low light capabilities.

Well, the pretend detective (?) used neither of those cameras, so neither did he get IBIS or the best lowlight performance this side of $4000, in broad daylight for this pretend scenario...

Maybe ask in the cell phone forum 😆 lol

My guess is that the detective wanted to get great JPG images with film-style colours and effects straight out of the camera, without having to fiddle around with post-processing. Fuji is the natural choice.

Giggles. He probably also wanted to try f-log video recording with improved AF-C straight to the SD card with the largest firmware update. :-P

How in the world did he ever take a pretend picture without a pretend battery grip????

He's obviously a troll detective.
