5d Mark Iv battery performance

I recently bought a new canon 5d mark iv

I fully charged the battery and then shot an event I was doing both jpen and raw files + a few videos the battery lasted for around 500 photos and about 10 videos..

By the way the video quality was dropped to the lower 1080x720 resolution

I thought this might be due to the first time of use of the brand new battery

So I recharged to 100%

the next day I went to another event and took the following:

158 photos JPEG only  (full resolution and highest quality)

28 small videos ( each video was less than 10 seconds) * lower resolution

Wifi was off

I look at thephotos through the back of my lcd twice

* I didnnot use the touch screen

Also I had my canon 600ex rt flash mounted and took all photos with flash

Battery went from 100% to 32%

Is this normal?

In my canon 6d I get about 3 more photos and videos together

Is there anything else it might be turned on and draining the battery?

I don't think the flash has anything to do with the camera draining battery but I mention it for reference
