Re: EF-S is not an afterthought for Canon

Canon introduced their APS-C bodies as a lower-cost alternative to the expensive FF bodies.  Their first APS-C bodies (D30 in 2000, D60 in 2002) were introduced before their first FF body (1D2 in 2002).  What were the other brands producing in 2000-2002?

The primary purpose of the 7D series is sports and wildlife.  Other than UWA, the EF lenses work great on any Canon APS-C body.  (Obviously the FF UWA lenses work perfectly on APS-C bodies too, albeit not as wide). The telephoto lenses work even better on APS-C bodies than on FF bodies.  And I'm not a UWA shooter.

The 7D series bodies have the same feature set as the 5D FF series bodies.  I look forward to the Mark III, but in the mean time I'm quite satisfied with my Mark II.
