What I noticed the most was the composition. I thought in many instances that it could be more dynamic. IE, placing the subject in the composition in places other than the center or near center. Additionally, some of the compositions are very crowded with lots of distracting elements, ie, the crowd.

Have you considered the use of a longer lens? Nikon sells the 300 f4 which is extremely good wide open and even good with a tc. That would blur the background and give you separation.

The light is what it is. Some are a little dark, but could be lifted in post. Lots to play with. When printing images, it is hard to see the "grain" in an image shot at 12800 unless you are a foot away from it. And the whole trick is to get the image first properly exposed and sharp or blurred and worry about post processing later.
