If I were you, I would compare it with others in the store. Also try resetting the camera to factory defaults.
I was at Target today and looked at a T6i. The screen was way less pixelated. My SL2 should have the same pixel density as the T6i. I really can’t explain it, it’s a strange issue. I did try a factory reset as well, no change.
I’ll see what Canon says. But I would likely return the camera if they can’t fix it. I’m within my return period.
