Thinking of a X-T20, which lens?
1

I'm looking at getting an X-T20. Most of what I read says the 18-55 is the best choice for a Kit. My initial thought is to do that for best IQ and faster aperture. But my initial, and primary use is multi-day bicycling trips, so weight is important. And, my primary use is Landscape, which favors wider, and places less import on faster.

Given the above, would I be better served by the 16-50? It's shorter, lighter, and wider, but will I be giving up too much IQ?  What about the new 15-45? In some ways it seems a better choice but would only be available if I did body only + lens, which isn't a particularly attractive pricing option.

One thought with the 16-50 is to get the 2 lens kit that includes the 50-230 and grip. While I doubt I'd carry the tele on trips, it would be useful at other times - assuming the IQ is OK. And while the apparent list for that combo is $1522 USD, my local big box has it (in stock) for $1200, which looks like a smoking bargain.

But as always, a great price on something I don't need, or wont be happy with is not a bargain at all.

I'm coming from an X100S for reference.  In all the above cases, I realize I loose the marked apertures on the lens barrel, which I love about the X100 (I learned on '70s full manual Pentax), but that seems unavoidable unless I spend $$$ and / or go with several primes.

Thoughts?
