Another EF-M 55-250 on M3 thread...

I saw a few recent posts talking about the EF-M 55-250 and thought I would chime in with my own recent experience using the lens (and also the M3). It is spring here and the snow is melting away, so I decided to take advantage of nice weather a couple of weeks ago to go on an adventure to a nearby waterfall. In additions to an extra jacket and some provisions, I decided to bring my M3 with both my EF-M 55-200mm and EF-S 10-18mm lenses along. The whole trip from the car was about 12km (7.46 miles). I covered about 1/3 in snowshoes and 2/3 trail running (in snow).
The EOS M3 turned out to be a wonderful camera for this type of adventure. It was small and light enough that it did not weight me down. I cannot say enough about the EF-M 55-200mm. It may not perform like a 70-200 L lens, but what I lacks in IQ it makes up for in versatility and convenience… Literally, it is a compact telephoto lens that easily fits in your pocket!
Just a quick note from the field, I did get quite wet, as did my gear. While I would not recommend subjecting your gear to that type treatment, I thought it might be interesting for some of you to know that in my case exposing the camera condensation and humidity did not affect the camera or lenses.
The photos I am including are a pic of the waterfall (i only included that one because it is the only one I have with the EF-S 10-18mm) and a selection of “semi-abstract” photographs I took of the ice around the waterfall which I took with the EF-M 55-200mm. The ice photos were processed with the ‘vivid cool’ or ‘dramatic cool’ filters in Apple Photos. None of them are exceptional by any means, but together I find they make an interesting abstract set.
Hope you enjoy them!
