Haven't tried the other two yet, but they don't interest me. I will probably next get a video camera instead of the G9. The G7 being so good is why I have never wanted to upgrade. The wife has a GX85 which has that better quality sharpness, but the G7 is so good ergonomically that we are going to keep the G7 and a GM5 and sell the newest bestest GX85.

Color doesn't seem to be mentioned much around here. For me there was a problem with Panasonics colors until the G7 came out. I am sure it has improved since, but the G7 fixed the main issues with color that the GH4 and GM5 have. Mainly reds and greens.

The G7 is ultra lightweight but with all the convenience of a fully manual DSLR. It has all the right buttons and knobs and the articulating screen is great for video. The EVF is good, in fact everything is good. Panasonic treated us with the G7 by making it more plasticy and removing video things like a headphone jack. It left some 4K video and street shooters like myself with a perfect camera.

All the G7 is missing is a stabalized 17.5mm f1.7 Panasonic lens like the 42.5mm. That ain't going to happen now that they have stopped making normal primes, but the kit lenses are superb, so holding the camera a bit steadier when using wide and normal primes is fine. I never need stabilization at night, only daytime activities. So it isnt an issue.

Hi mentos77.

Having brought a Panasonic G7 last December it pleases me to read about the reasons why you like this camera. I was looking for a compact light camera with plenty of features and so the Panasonic G7 was my choice.
