The 18mp sensor in the 600D is okay but the sensor on the 750D is good upgrade in IQ. You're also getting the AF system of the 7D/70D and that's a good step up from the AF in the older rebel bodies. Overall, everything is just better, including the screen and the responsiveness.

Whether it's worth it, it just really depends on what you shoot. I like the colors a little better on the 750D and high ISO is better. On the IQ end, that's what you're gaining.

If you're after IQ, might not be worth it if you shoot in good light most of the time and if you don't need the extra resolution. If you want better noise performance and a more responsive camera, then it's worth it.

Another thing to look out for is the SL2 refurbished from the Canon store. You'd get a slightly better sensor with great liveview focusing, although similar AF system as lower-end rebels.

As far as the condition of the boxes, that's tough to say. You can have beat up boxes and everything could still be fine. These cameras are pretty sturdy and can take a decent beating but they do break so who knows.

If the camera powers on, nothing looks broken, and you can take pictures with it without any signs up trouble it'll probably be okay. The only problem is that you're likely not going to have warranty if it's not from an authorized dealer so if it goes bad a few months down, you're out of luck.
