Zoom Vs. Primes with the same aperature

So i recently picked up a canon Ae-1 program and two lenses that came bundled with it - a miranda 28/f2.8 and a sigma 28-70/f2.8 both for the FD mount. i am just wondering will the miranda lens be sharper than the sigma because it is a zoom instead of a prime and contains less glass inside the lens? or will the sharpness be the same since the aperture is the same ?
