Pentax 60-250: Tight zoom ring?

Hey, everybody!

I just bought a Pentax 60-250. I've only had one "extended" shooting session with it, taking pictures of my son's Ultimate Frisbee team.

I've noticed that, around 170mm of so, the zoom ring is a little "tight," or harder to rotate; if I am at 60mm and I start turning the zoom ring, it turns easily and smoothly up until maybe 170mm (I haven't  actually make note of the exact FL point, yet; I will do that), and then it gets kind of tight and slightly harder to rotate, up to maybe about 200mm, and then it turns easily, again through 250mm.

I assume this isn't "normal," but I'm wondering: Should I be concerned? The lens is new, so it it likely that it will "loosen up" a bit with usage?

It's not like it's so hard to turn that it takes a ton of effort, but it's just tight enough that it makes it a little difficult (e.g., when shooting video) to smoothly zoom through that "problem" range.

Thanks for any input or advice.

Greg
