Sony RX10 iv for bird photography

I am new to this camera and extremely impressed. It is portable, amazingly flexible and generates lovely pin sharp images. The only thing which annoys me is the inability to turn off the servo and keep the lens extended but 'asleep'. The twenty seconds it takes to turn on and extend to 600mm results in loss of the shot ( less so than having to change lenses however !!) My Nikon D4 is in a constant state of operational readiness but weighs enough to damage my back. Could it be suggested to Sony that such a feature is incorporated into a firmware upgrade. It can't be that complicated as the servo is activated automatically after a few minutes to turn it off.
