When to go full manual?

I use Aperture priority almost exclusively, except for shooting fast action when Shutter priority works better for me. The only time I switch the dial to M is when I want to make very long exposures, e.g. to create that washed cloud or water surface effect.

I know that going full manual means total control of the settings but honestly, I am very satisfied with the semi-automatic modes of my camera. I also noticed that that decisive moment can be gone quickly while I tweak with the exposure settings.

Can you folks give me examples from your photography experience when switching to manual has an obvious advantage over A or S modes?
