DNG vs X3F vs SFD vs S-Hi

I was wondering if anyone had done enough testing to know if any of these modes has a preference over the others and produces better files? From a quick look over dpreview I have found the following:

  • DNG clips highlights at 200 ISO and 1600+ ISO
  • XF3 has better colour rendition
  • SFD is similar to bracketing and doing HDR - but it's not clear what is better
  • S-Hi doesn't add any details that you wouldn't get from good interpolation
  • DNG works in Adobe Software, XF3 needs SPP

My current understanding is that I should try SPP, if I hate it shoot DNG and only use 100 and 400 ISO (100 really). If I like SPP then use XF3 High and forget the other two modes as they just bloat the files - unless I want to do HDR specifically.

I wondered if anyone could clarify any of those points and cover anything I missed?
