Commlite Nikon + A7rIII - my findings...

So I picked up the lastest Commlite Nikon Lens adapter with V06 firmware. I have a range of Nikkors, so here are my findings on the Sony A7rIII. Firstly here is a little legend of ratings

[0] = Not usable

[1] = Bearly usable - Mostly hunts but very occasionally Locks on

[2] = Somewhat Usable, Reliably locks on but very slow, and still occasionally fails

[3] = Usable - Always always locks on but still slow compared to Native lenses

[4] = Very Usable - Always locks on with good speed. Not quite Native Speed

[5] = Excellent - Suitable as a replacement for Native Sony Glass in terms of AF speed and performance

85 f1.8 [2]-[3] Works. Might be suitable for Some portrait work.

70-200 F4 VR [3] Pleasantly surprised. Very sharp lens

300 F2.8 VR2 [0]-[1] Very Very low success, so tempted to give it a 0. Amazingly sharp though

600 F4E [0] Never locked on once.

500 F4 AF-S mk2 (no VR) [0] Never locked on once.

Sigma 35 1.4 [4] Just a notch below native speed.

Nikkor 24-70 F2.8 [4] Decent speed. Not as good as Native Speed though

Nikkor 24-120 F2.8 [3]-[4] Decent speed. Not as good as Native Speed though.
