Nikon D5600 - looking for input on 1.8 lens

Good evening everyone! Looking to obtain a 1.8 lens (yes 1.4 would be even better for what I need, but I'm also not looking to spend a ton of money on a lens right now). I'm looking for an economical lens to take indoor BMX photos of my daughter's races.

So.... need a fast lens good in low'ish light. It's basically a covered area so it's more than a shade of sorts. An thinking for economical sakes and hobby use - a 55mm, f/1.8 might good for now?? Thoughts?

I did take test shots and played around last weekend, and in order to get good photos of the action without blur, I ended up with dark, noisy photos; luckily I was able to save them in Lightroom as presentable, but not ideally what I would want to do every time.

Currently I have:

  • AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR
  • AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED
  • Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX VR
Nikon D5600
