Snapseed and Lightroom CC - Auto

I spent 3 days in the mountains with friends and family. We rented an old fashioned cabin with dark timber interior.  I used the 16mm + Nissin i40 flash (bounced) and the results were very good,

When shooting at F4-F5.6 to capture 7-8 people in a dark environment it goes without saying that the flash will be somewhat dominant (even when bounced).  So, I decided to test Snapseed's and Lightroom CC's auto-adjust feature.   Holy cow....Snapseed was completely useless consistently INCREASING contrast by 8-10% and nothing was done to balance flash light with ambient light. Lightroom CC on the other hand DECREASED contrast by up to 22% and made a whole lot of adjustments to reduce the flash light and bring out the ambient light.

This came as a surprise to me as Google's Pixel 2 is known for intelligent software processing.

Kind regards
.lars
