What could cause mirrorless to lose the long game to dslr

What would make dslrs outsell mirrorless 5, 10, or 20 years from now? Why would manufacturers produce more dslrs than mirrorless cameras in, say, 2030? It appears a preponderance of active dpr posters in open talk think mirrorless will fail, and I'm wondering what the scenario would be that causes this. No, not just in Q2 2018 or only for Pentax, I mean the dslr never being replaced and mirrorless never matching or exceeding dslr marketshare. In a world where smartphones take orders of magnitude more photos than camera systems, it seems a strange theory. I shoot with an old dslr and still browse new ones, but I just can't imagine what the insurmountable dslr advantage is that the average buyer cares about.
