Imaging Resource's CP+ 2018 interview

An interesting read which should complete and clarify DPR's own interview; it goes nicely through all the product range.

Emphasis on the K-1 II's improvements. Whatever happens due to the new hardware, it can't be (all) replicated in software, they say.

Of course, they give no detail about future products (except to confirm that they were already working on the new APS-C flagship, and that it won't be a K-3-series camera).

APS-C and FF are both important, but right now FF lenses are badly needed ("the lack of good full frame lenses is always a complaint from customers").

"the response toward the K-1 is very good" - and it also had a positive impact on APS-C.

The 645 wasn't affected much by its mirrorless competitors, and they believe it should stay a DSLR.

And, some tidbits about the Theta.

P.S. "Enough with the "No more Ricoh" / "No more Pentax" rumors: You heard it here folks. Can this be an end to the rumors once and for all, please? Ricoh once again confirmed its commitment to both of its brands in the digital imaging space. Interchangeable-lens cameras will keep the Pentax brand. Fixed-lens cameras stick with the Ricoh brand. That's not changing, regardless of what the rumor mill says." - Dave Etchells has a point
