My brief experience with the x100T and looking for something else..
Apr 16, 2018
First let me say, I love the x100t. Beautiful camera and absolutely a joy to shoot with. I had it for a few months, and took it to India with me. While I was in India I had some serious issues with the battery life. I felt like I had to keep the camera off constantly, only turning it on to take a photo. That causes a serious lag in reaction time when I was walking on the streets. While even doing that, I still had to constantly swap out batteries and sometimes even calling it a day to go back to the hotel for the charger.
The lag in response time caused by constantly turning on/off and being mindful of the battery % might have also had a part to play in my next concern with it. The auto focus. While it wasn't terrible if given great light and a smooth hand, I noticed moving it quickly (on/off, half press auto focus, shoot) all while trying to capture a fast passing moment (and there are TONS in India, if anyone has every been). While having shutter speeds of 1/125+ with 5.6-8 aperture, after reviewing photos at home there were so many shots that are nearly unusable from it not being a sharp still photo. Not saying there's movement, but that it just looks a slight blurry. Not clear enough to be happy while editing and hoping to print. These aren't even fast moving subjects, just people doing people things. during the day.
Because of this, I sold the x100T for a good profit, and now I'm looking for something else. I would LOVE to stay with the x100 system. Compared to the x100F, how much of an upgrade has been done on it in regards to my complaints? What about the XT-20, or maybe a whole different system? Back to Canon or Nikon? I'd like to note I only use the EVF for the most part. So the quality in that would be great.
Thanks guys, sorry for the long post!
