When do you service your camera?

I recently had to send my D750 in for service after an electronic failure and the camera was no longer usable. I sent my D800 in a couple of years ago when the AF seemed to be off, they did a CLA and the camera worked like or actually better than new again. I'm now going to send my old D700 in for a CLA and have them go over it, simply because it's an older camera that has never been serviced. It does have one button that acts a little loose but isn't a big deal in use.
So I'm wondering: how do other people see servicing a camera.

I send my camera in when I first notice something doesn't seem 100% right, even if there is a reliable work around.

I only send my camera in when it has a major problem or is unusable/broken.

If the camera is a few years old and has a major problem, I just see this as the time to replace it with a newer model.
