Sony A7RII has 3.7 MP, the Canon M5 has 2.7 MP. I will try out, if there I see a visible difference.

And the idea with the eye cup is good. The builtin eyecup of Canon M5 is not removable and not very big.

You didn't say whether you tried chimping with the LCD with the sun's glare on it or not.

I think the M5's LCD is great, no problem at all in direct sunlight!

For that matter, try focusing a photo in very low light with a DSLR vs. a MILC that has an EVF with boosted exposure.

Yes of course, there are many advantages of AVF... Just a couple of minutes ago I used my M5 as a kind of a night vision device to observer a little fox in our neighbourhood!
