Good glass will never be worthless. It will outlast whatever body you are using it on and will still have a residual value.

Ok but please also consider that with a lens what only can be controlled by a Pentax camera, let`s say the 2000€ 150-450 without aperture ring, will loose dramaticalliy of its value compared to a fully Manual Zeiss what can later be adapted to lot of other camera systems. So if look at Pentax as a kind of invest for the future, there is higher risk to spoil money than on Sony.

I look at Pentax as a kind of picture-taking tool.

That`why I jumped to Sony and sold al my Pentax stuff last summer/autumn. If I look at he Prices I would get today I would have lost another 20%. So glad I swapped last year. used K1 are down to 1100€

If that is the reason you jumped to Sony, great! It means Pentax is amazingly competitive!

By the way, Sony A7R II is 2375 euro (source: idealo.de) new, down from a MSRP of 3500 euro. The Sony A7 II is 1189 euro, likewise new (and 800 second hand). I don't think you managed to escape depreciation, on the contrary.

And, almost a year later, surprise: Pentax is still here
