GX9 + Lumix 20mm - 10 Pics from DC
Apr 14, 2018

SOOC no editing the than Lightroom defaults just so I could sort them. Lightroom didn't appear to apply any sharpening or NR.
Standard profile.. I may have switched to AWBc at some point I can't remember.
Really struggle with the 20mm lens and I never see anything in that focal length which I'm trying to learn its place. I just forced myself to go out and use it I still don't see with it very well. I got about 50 pics from this walk around I wasn't really trying to hard just trying to get back out.
Anyway -
GX9 as an upgrade from my G7 -
Pretty good. I never use and EVF and I used it a couple of times today it does the job. YMMV. The screen was hard to see in the sun so it was handy to have and I'm trying get used to it. Love the upward tilt it brings me back to when I had the GX7 and It was handy a few times where the sun just totally blind me.
Jpegs are pretty darn good. I shoot RAW and honestly with this type of stuff I wouldn't even bother hence forth.
Ergonomics... hmmm I can see the need for that handle. I didn't think I would be that fussed but the G7 is just a beautiful camera to hold and even with the 20mm it was a little meh.
Image stabilization was the big kicker. I actually had confidence I was hitting things for the most part where on the G7 I would always be doubting it. Both Mechanical and E shutter were REALLY good. I guess upgrading from something after my G7 you might not notice as much if any improvement but I really did.
There was many an ice cream dropped when this little guy was announced but for me it was a solid upgrade.
Hope it helps with some real world use / user.
