Wow. Just... wow. Care to explain why do you absolutely need such fast ultra wide-angle lenses for?
And since neither Canon, Nikon or Sony has a 14mm f/1.4 or 20mm f/1.4, their FF cameras don't make sense in your opinion? (Canon has a $1550 24mm f/1.4, Nikon's is $2000).
WRONG.
Sigma 14/1.8 (sorry for F1.4, but that changes nothing) is available for Canon, Nikon and Sony. You can buy it today.
Irix 15/2.4 (and samyang 14/2.8 & 12/2.8 ), Samyang 20/1.8, 24/1.4, 35/1.4 - all for Pentax K.
Of course this is not as much as what you can get for other mounts, but frankly, the situation is not entirely bad at all! At least if you look at this practically. Also Pentax 15-30/2.8 is very good fullframe wide angle zoom lens.
Same applies for all other lenses that are not available for Pentax like mentioned 20/1.4, 24/1.4 etc and usually from more sources like own + sigma + zeiss.
"why do you absolutely need"
Don't push words in my mouth! The point is, that you are able to cover everything else with no problem by APS-C cameras, but there are no lenses (YET) to cover FF equivallent of mentioned lenses like 14/1.8, 20/1.4, 24/1.4... etc. You'll need something like APS-C lens with 9mm and F1,2 to cover similar output you can get with lets say D810 + 14/1.8. Same applies for lenses like 15-30/2.8 because there is no APS-C lens with parameters like 10-20/F2 YET.
Wide angle fast fullframe lenses and even some short telephoto fast fullframe lenses simply have no counterpart on APS-C systems. And these options are only reason why one would spend more money for larger camera and more expensive lenses.. the desired output. But is it worth investing such amount of money into FF K mount?
DFA28-105/3.5-5.6 lens is just cheap walk-around lens for hiking, it IS NOT lens for any serious work that demands FF camera. And it IS NOT a lens unavailable on APS-C. Just get sigma 17-70/2.8-4 and you'll get similar output with smaller and even faster and a bit wider lens (26-105/2.8-4 in terms of light and 4 - 6.3 in terms of depth of field).
I can easily turn this backward.. show me lenses that are FF K1 equivallent of lets say:
Sigma 8-16 (FF12-24??)
DA18-135WR (FF 28-200WR?)
I can see the reaction already: Oh yes you can use them in crop mode... great.
One would certainly buy $2000 camera to do this...
And since lenses like this ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR K1 and they are not even planned, the answer is easy:
a) stay with APS-C K mount and wait for K3 successor, or get KP
Are you trying to prevent someone from buying a camera you're often posting against?
By the way, here's what Ricoh Imaging has planned:
http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/japan/products/lens/images/K_Mount_Lens.pdf
b) sell that while it has some value and get something else
There is no "something else".
Canon, Nikon, Sony all offer FF systems fully covered by lenses from ultra wide angle to extreme telephoto including full setup of fast F1.4 lenses. And they offer it NOW. Not in some dreamy PDF.
Just reality.
Are you going to push somebody into investing in system, that is incapable to be competitve and that is still after all those "ff blah blah" years missing so many lenses and 3Rd party support?
Is the FF portfolio of K mount lenses growing? Ok, then tell me which interesting FF K mount lenses were introduced during WHOLE YEAR 2017 and I can buy them.
Ah so.. none.
ASP-C line at least is covered by lenses. FF line is just pointless jump into water filled with sharks.
Using FF camera with 28-105 slow lens is just waste of money, not to mention the size and wight over K50 you are used to.
I own the D FA 28-105 and it's a very nice lens - too good for its price.
Alex
As usual.. are you Ricoh representative? Do they pay you to spread such "optimistic blind" things?
