Like I mentioned earlier, the M5's buttons are the same.  But you (I) get used to them.

The way you're shooting, you probably don't need BBAF tho.

I got 50mm stm and 100mm f2 to complement 50mm. Got 100mm for dencent price on amazon. With center point AF, SL2 seems to do everything I need.

Canon AI Servo is indeed excellent for tracking, even in the lower end cameras.

Are there any video IQ differences between SL2 and 80d. I owned 80 for few months and sold it to reduce the weight and size for occasional travelling.

The Codecs might be different, resulting in IQ differences.  They both have that same great DPAF though!
