Why get a Lensbaby when you can recreate the effect in post processing

Someone I know recently bought a lensbaby (Velvet 56) and I looked at the Lensbaby website and from what I can see, it seems that one can reproduce the effect in post-processing (like selective blurring and tilt-shift effect), hence saving the cost of one or more lenses. So why by a Lensbaby?

I have never had one so maybe there is more to it than I know. so I am asking your opinion. Am I wrong in thinking that the effects can be reproduces in pp?
