Thanks so much for taking the time !

But. What, exactly, are you trying to achieve? The Laowa 7.5mm focusses as close as 12 cm (nominal). The subject is only about 5-6cm in front of the lens for that. Is that not close enough for you?

The distance seems close enough, but the magnification would not be macro (from my understanding), you couldn't get a subject at 1:1 with this setup (I already have a real macro lens). For me the whole magic of the 15mm macro is that you can do real macroin a wide angle of view at the same time, with pretty big depth of field considering the situation. And at the same time have a cool wide angle lens.

If not, another inexpensive way of occasionally getting closer would be to add some screw-in close up lenses. People here will tell you that the quality will suffer, but I know a very accomplished natural history photographer who had no trouble getting his prints accepted into international exhibitions. He used the cheapest close up lenses he could find. (He was retired, and every piece of kit he bought had to pay for itself.

That sounds interesting, does this photographer have any of his work online to check out ? But now we are loosing some of the wide field of view, right ?

He had a very astute understanding of photographic value for money.

Nice
