Would you guys agree that using the Laowa 7.5mm + an even short tube in order to do macro, on a M4/3 camera, would most likely result in the point of focal being right at the edge of the lens, or maybe even inside it ?

Thanks!

I tried earlier today, prompted by your question.

The shortest tube I have is 10mm.  (I'm not sure it's possible to buy a shorter one.)

With that I was picking up the shape of the dust on the lens.  Yes, it was impossible to focus on anything.  The lens was too far from the sensor.

But.  What, exactly, are you trying to achieve?  The Laowa 7.5mm focusses as close as 12 cm (nominal).  The subject is only about 5-6cm in front of the lens for that.  Is that not close enough for you?

If not, another inexpensive way of occasionally getting closer would be to add some screw-in close up lenses.  People here will tell you that the quality will suffer, but I know a very accomplished natural history photographer who had no trouble getting his prints accepted into international exhibitions.  He used the cheapest close up lenses he could find.  (He was retired, and every piece of kit he bought had to pay for itself.  He had a very astute understanding of photographic value for money.)
