One factor is the size and weight of the 5 axis stabilisation. Its quite a large contraption and its in all the pro M43 cameras now except the new low light GH5S.

Then there is the fact that these cameras have a bias towards high end video where a bigger camera seems to be more desirable for various reasons to do with mounting the camera or attaching things to it.

But you are right it seems counterintuitive that high end Panny and Oly cameras are larger now but all in all if you compare them to the alternatives with high end lenses attached, then the overall package is inevitably a lot smaller.
