Switching to a NX500 from the a6000?
Apr 4, 2018
Hi all,
I understand that Samsung NX is a dead system but it's been a rather enticing option for quite some time. I've had my trusty a6000 for 2 years and it's served me quite well. I shoot dance/art visuals mostly but I also do some wedding/sweet16s/event videography and the crappy LCD, ergonomics, overheating, and battery life have been a nuisance.
I'd ultimately like to jump to the NX1, but I think the NX500 is more justifiable at the moment due to this just being a hobby / supplementary income. I only have one e mount lens, the rest are vintage manual lenses so the cost of switching systems is very little. Anyway, I'd like to know if anyone here has extensively used both the NX500 and the a6000 and can share their experiences shooting (mainly video)? How does the IQ of the 1080p video compare? Is there anything I'll miss from the a6000 aside from the EVF? Are there any quirks the NX500 has that may hinder my ability to cover events?
