Canon EOS M50 Compression Artifacts

I'm going to present an initial analysis for discussion.

It's unclear if what I am seeing in these tests has a visual impact on actual photographs.

Here is a mosaic from my Fixed Pattern Noise (FPN) testing:

Top row: uncompressed Bottom row: compressed1st column: black 2nd column: illuminated 3rd column: 2D FT of 1st column 4th Column: 2D FT of 2nd column

As usual center 256x256 pixels of 16 stacked "identical" images. All ISO 100.

It's clear that something is going on, particularly in the shadows of the compressed images.
