Re: Moon with landscape

Yes, I remember the first time I tried shooting with a 400mm lens, 1.4TC on my APS-C body, a 35mm equiv of 900mm. I was trying to figure out why my tripod/mount was loose/drooping as the entire moon fell out of the frame in 10-15 seconds. I soon realized I needed to set up with the moon in the upper left corner so I could focus, lock up the mirror, and allow vibrations to damp out as the moon was crossing mid-frame.

At 50mm it might not be noticeable (and certainly not when it's a 10+ stop overexposed halating/blooming blob. At 1/400, movement certainly won't be noticed.
